In TCM, Yin represents the energy that is responsible for moistening and cooling bodily functions. Overeating spicy and acrid foods, prolonged irregular eating habits, and high fever due to febrile illness can lead to depletion of stomach fluids, leading to stomach Yin deficiency. Shí hú (Dendrobium; 石斛) strengthens the stomach and is primarily used to reduce internal heat and replenish fluids in the body. For thousands of years, it has been regarded as one of the precious and top-grade herbs in Chinese medicine, alongside cordyceps and ginseng.
Benefits:
● Relieves dry eyes and reduces eye fatigue
● Treats stomach Yin deficiency symptoms such as loss of appetite, thirst, irritability, bleeding gums, and epigastric pain
● Treats kidney Yin deficiency symptoms such as blurry vision, weakness in the bones and tendons, and steaming bone disorder (akin to the feeling of heat sensation coming from the bones)
